September 21st, International Day of Peace, a day to make mention of a peacemaker gone before us: Nicholas Roerich (1847-1947), Russian artist, set designer, world traveler, visionary of peace through culture. The Roerich Banner of Peace is taken from his 1931 “New Era Library” book Realm of Light, an extra-ordinary find at the Hartville Marketplace.
I first took note of September 21st as Peace Day when reading the children’s book titled Peace One Day by Jeremy Gilley and Karen Blessen, at the library a few years ago. Jeremy Gilley founded Peace One Day in 1999 and the non-profit has grown steadily ever since, getting fund-raising support from Coca-Cola’s one million Peace One Day logo Coke cans and Ben & Jerry’s Imagine Whirled Peace ice cream, among many others.

OK first-cool vibe! Then, thanks for the peaceful shout out, and other links, this was lovely!
I appreciate your aesthetic-and am a curious collector of flat things myself.
